Bully Royale began with a promise.
A promise we made to our best friend when his life changed overnight.
Our dog, Fendrik, isn't just a pet. He's family. He's our loyal companion, our source of laughter, our protector, and a huge part of our lives. Like many bully owners, we know that the bond between a dog and its family is something words can barely describe.
In April, everything changed.
On a Friday evening, Fendrik went outside before bed like he always did. We noticed he seemed a little unsteady and wasn't quite his normal, confident, majestic self. Earlier that day, he had received routine vaccinations, so we assumed he was simply feeling a little tired and sore.
The next morning, our world turned upside down.
When we got up to let him outside, Fendrik couldn't move his back legs.
We rushed him to our local veterinarian, terrified and desperate for answers. After nearly two hours of examinations and X-rays, we still didn't know exactly what was wrong. The veterinarian recommended that we immediately take him to a specialist at Auburn Veterinary Emergency Referral Center, more than two hours away.
Without hesitation, we made the drive.
That day was one of the longest days of our lives.
After hours of testing, the specialists discovered that Fendrik had three prolapsed discs in his spine and needed emergency surgery. We spent nearly 12 agonizing hours waiting and praying while surgeons worked to save our boy.
Thankfully, the surgery was a success.
We thought the hardest part was behind us.
But about a week later, his surgical incision became severely inflamed. Once again, we loaded up and made the trip back to Auburn. Fendrik underwent a second surgery so doctors could clean and repair the area and ensure everything was healing properly.
Thankfully, that surgery was also successful.
Today, Fendrik is still fighting.
Every day is dedicated to rehabilitation, physical therapy, and helping him learn to walk again. Some days bring major victories. Other days bring challenges. Through it all, his determination inspires us.
The entire journey came with an overwhelming financial burden.
Between emergency care, specialists, surgeries, rehabilitation, medications, and follow-up treatments, Fendrik's medical bills exceeded $20,000.
Like many families facing an unexpected medical emergency, we were determined to do whatever it took to give our boy the care he deserved.
That's when Bully Royale was born.
Initially, we started this brand to help cover the cost of Fendrik's surgeries, ongoing rehabilitation, and pet insurance. But as we built Bully Royale, something incredible happened.
It became bigger than us.
It became a community of people who understand that bully breeds are more than dogs. They're family. They're loyal companions. They're worthy of love, respect, and every chance at a healthy life.
Today, every Bully Royale purchase helps support Fendrik's recovery journey.
But our vision doesn't stop there.
Once Fendrik's medical expenses are fully paid off, a portion of all Bully Royale profits will go toward helping other Pit Bulls and bully breeds in need.
Our ultimate dream is to build something far greater than an apparel brand.
Our dream is to start a Pit Bull rescue.
A place where misunderstood dogs can find safety.
A place where dogs facing medical challenges can get the care they deserve.
A place where every dog gets a second chance.
Fendrik's story showed us how quickly life can change. It also showed us how powerful love, community, and determination can be when people come together for a cause they believe in.
